Are Hair Extensions for You?

My first ever experience with hair extensions was in 2002. It was the infancy of online shopping and I ordered a pack of hair from an admittedly "shady" online retailer. The hair came with a small bottle of black latex glue and not too long after I had glued the entire pack of bright, brassy blonde, pack of hair into my little sister's hair. It didn't match, I'm sure it was tacky, but I was in love. This was before I knew I would end up being a hairdresser but I knew in that moment I loved the transformative power hair extensions had. The waist length hair gave my little sister the mermaid dream look she had always craved and an extra kick in her teenage step. Hair extension technology (yes there is such a thing) has come a very long way but what remains the same is it's ability to give a woman confidence. No longer just for adding length, hair extensions now are a great way to add body, fullness, fix a haircut, and in some cases the ability to give you the color of your dreams without the damage of bleach. If you've ever wondered if extensions are for you read on!

My hair is super fine. i don't need length, I just want it to be thicker. what extensions are right for me?

If you're not afraid of a little commitment and short on time I love tape in extensions for this. Tape in hair extensions are exactly what they sound like; thin tape wefts, 1 inch wide pre-taped hair wefts, that get “taped-in” in between your own hair in “sandwich” like bonds. It is the most requested hair extension method in salons worldwide right now. This method is 100% natural, requires no tools or chemicals, feels super flat against your head, and lasts up to three months-and the hair is reusable. It takes less than an hour to apply an entire head and with proper applications leaves the hair with zero damage. One or two rows will work to fill in your hair and give you a little more thickness. Undetectable and lightweight, these are my favorite of the semi-permanent hair extension methods.

Ombre' Clip In's are a great option for a chemical, and commitment free hair color change.

I'm worried about the commitment of semi-permanent extensions, anything for me?

My go-to hair extension method are clip-in's. Temporary, customizable, and capable of filling in fine hair` or dramatic looks it's the perfect option for many women. When purchasing clip-in extensions it's important to do your research and get the best quality (it's worth the investment). I'm currently obsessing over the new clip-in sets from Glam Seamless . They're seamless, easy to blend, and with Glam's wide variety of shades you'll be able to find something that suits you. If you want to make sure you get the correct color match you can call ask for a color ring sample or send in in a photo of your hair for the company to match your hair. It's important to note that if you have thick hair and have shoulder length or shorter it will be harder to blend your extensions.
